House painting in Barrhaven

Barrhaven is mostly drywall and latex, built from the late 1980s through the 2010s across Longfields, Stonebridge, Half Moon Bay and Chapman Mills. That means very few lead-paint questions and very little plaster, but it also means a lot of houses finished in builder-grade flat white that needs two coats to cover and marks if you look at it.

The common jobs here are the ones that come with a house hitting fifteen or twenty years: repainting the whole interior after the first owners move out, spraying the original oak or maple kitchen rather than replacing it, and the first serious exterior repaint of engineered-wood siding and trim. Garage doors and front doors on the south-facing sides of the newer streets fade noticeably faster than the rest.

Townhouse and semi blocks, which are a large share of Barrhaven, come with a practical constraint: shared walls and narrow side yards make staging and access tighter, and exterior colour is often governed by a condominium corporation or a builder agreement. Check before you choose a colour rather than after.
